A2 Dairy Products Australia Supports Renewed Call For Further Research Into Beta-Casein Proteins In Milk - September 1, 2009
A2 Dairy Products Australia (A2DPA) has reviewed the findings of the CHOICE Milk Products Compared report and welcomes the researchers' calls for additional research into the A1 beta casein protein. The CHOICE researchers supported the recent findings of the European Food Safety Review (EFSA) and Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) that further research is necessary to firmly establish the potential wide ranging effects on the digestive system of the protein fragment BCM-7, which is yielded from A1 beta casein.
Peter Nathan, Executive General Manager of A2 Dairy Products Australia, says that the company is confident that the experienced benefits reported by consumers provides sufficient reason to be committed to further research that supports the a2 Milk proposition. "Many people who have experienced symptoms such as skin irritations, digestive complaints, bloating and mucus build up have reported immediate and dramatic improvements when they have made the switch to a2 Milk," said Mr Nathan. We will continue to expand the a2 Milk business and meet the rapidly growing consumer demand for our products as well as ensuring that we remain committed to ongoing research."
About a2 Milk
There are two major forms of the beta casein protein found in milk - A1 and A2. a2 Milk is the only cow's milk on the market in Australia that is certified to be naturally rich in the A2 form of the beta casein protein. It is produced by A2 Dairy Products Australia and is sourced from cows that have been genetically tested, then segregated and their milk kept in isolation to ensure it does not come into contact with milk containing the A1 protein.
