The a2 Milk® difference

It all starts with the cows. We conduct a simple DNA test on a tissue sample taken from the cows to identify cows that naturally produce milk with only A2-type beta-casein protein and no A1 protein. Every batch is then tested again before it reaches your fridge, so you can feel confident in what you're drinking.

The result? Milk that may be easier on digestion for some people*, with all the goodness of natural dairy milk.

*a2 Milk® is naturally A1 protein free, so it may be easier on digestion than ordinary milk for some milk intolerant individuals, when consumed as part of a health varied diet.

FAQs

How is fat-free milk made?

Fat-free, no-fat, or skim milk is created by spinning milk in a centrifuge and removing fat droplets that separate to the surface.

How much fat is in a2 Milk®?

Per 100 mL:

Is a2 Milk® No Fat good for you?

a2 Milk® No Fat retains many of the essential nutrients found in a2 Milk® Full Cream, including protein, minerals and vitamins. Because of its lower fat content, it contains fewer kilojoules and fat-soluble vitamins.

How is a2 Milk® No Fat different from other fat-free milk?

Fresh a2 Milk® products naturally contain only A2-type beta-casein protein and no A1 protein. These proteins are almost identical, but because of a single amino acid difference, they are digested differently. Some studies have shown that the A1 protein may contribute to gastrointestinal symptoms for some people who have difficulty digesting ordinary milk.

Is a2 Milk® No Fat lactose free?

No. For a lower fat, lactose-free choice, we offer a2 Milk® Lactose Free Light. It has the same delicious taste as a2 Milk® Light, with naturally no A1 protein and no lactose.

How can I use fat-free milk?

a2 Milk® No Fat can be used to replace other milk wherever a no-fat option is appropriate. Not suitable as a complete milk replacement for children under the age of 2. Check out our recipes for inspiration.
